Course Description
This program is the sixth in a series of 10 modules included in the Anesthesia Assistant Training Program (AATP). In addition to a review of both pediatric and geriatric patients, commonly enountered disease states will be introduced, including diabetes, thryoid disease, obesity, substance abuse and eating disorders. PLEASE NOTE: This course is only available as part of the Anesthesia Assistant Training Program and cannot be purchased individually. Course Objectives
Explain anatomic and physiologic differences in young and old patients
Define diabetes and discuss its relevance to office-based anesthesia / sedation
Discuss the clinical significance of obesity
Identify anesthestic risk factors associated with substance abuse and eating disorders
