Course Description
The anesthesia assistant is a vital member of the anesthesia team. This presentation emphasizes the active role that assistants will assume when monitoring patients, both during and after anesthesia. Monitoring includes both visual assessment of the patient and the collection of data from monitoring equipment.
Course Objectives
Describe the types of monitors found in a dental office using sedation
Identify four body systems monitored during sedation
Discuss the need for recordkeeping during sedation
Identify complications associated with venipunctures and IV infusions during sedation
