Course Description
The program will contrast and compare the art and science of 5 techniques for anesthetizing the pediatric patient in an office-based setting. The peculiarities of the pediatric airway will be addressed.
Course Objectives
- Describe the decision making process for choosing adult techniques when anesthetizing a child
- Discuss advantages and disadvantages of inhalation, intramuscular and oral induction techniques
- Describe the management of laryngospasm with and without an IV in place
- List the advantages and drawbacks of ketamine and midazolam.
